In collaboration with NET-A-PORTER
I’ve been investing in good-quality basics for a few years now and have a strong edit of jeans, T-shirts, and knitwear that I wear on rotation. So, when it comes to the new season, a few key buys will update and refresh my wardrobe.
First up, Toteme’s bucket bag. Simplicity and longevity are what I look for when investing in a designer bag, and this one ticks both boxes. It’s a great size and one that was missing from my wardrobe, having either oversized totes or smaller evening bags to choose from. It’s big enough for all the essentials, and I love the option of holding the handle or wearing it on my shoulder.
Pairing with Frankie Shop’s blazer (XS), I love the nipped-in waist and exaggerated shoulders. A pair of black, straight-leg Toteme jeans (28). I was looking for a smarter pair of jeans and these are a great shape and length. And Aeyde low-heel boots, just the heel size I need for a bit of height but still comfy enough to run around town.
Loafers have been a mainstay in my wardrobe for the past few years, so I know I get the wear out of them and that they’re always a good investment. But could I justify another pair? When it’s Saint Laurent’s Le Loafer, I think so. I’ve resisted burgundy so far this season but fell in love with their signature pair in glossy burgundy the minute I saw them appear on NET-A-PORTER (religiously checking New In is my favourite pastime).
They add something to my go-to look of denim and a blazer, and I love them with a grey sock. I’ve teamed them below with my LESET Margo Tee (S), a new favourite. Khaite’s Abigail jeans (27) and the Frankie Shop blazer (XS).
“Two investment buys that I can team with my go-to looks to breathe new life into my wardrobe for the new season”
As we approach winter, I’m looking forward to embracing cosy accessories, knitwear and my shearling footwear. I’m loving Fairisle cardigans and Ugg Tasmans. &Daughter has me wanting a knitted hood, triangle scarf and bright-coloured wool sweaters.
But then, let’s not forget party season; if I’m going to tear myself away from my sofa, I want to look good doing it. Róhe’s lace top is in my basket; I think it will look so chic with tailored trousers and a belt. Sonia Petroff’s embellished belt reminds me of a vintage piece and is just the accessory I need to add interest to my simple evening looks. And I couldn’t love this Zimmerman dress more, sexy, understated and oh so cool.
