Building my new season shoe wardrobe, from a simple leather pump to a cut-out caged flat
A pair of new shoes can breathe life into your wardrobe, which is exactly what I need right now as we’re approaching the end of summer.
I’m debating over a pair of new pumps. Le Monde Beryl and Roger Vivier both have my heart or Toteme’s effortlessly cool wedge. I want something that can take me from day to night and elevate my vintage denim and oversized blazer outfits.
The patent-leather Mary Jane flats from Aeyde would also be a good addition to my wardrobe. For a more timeless option, I love the chic shape and glossed-leather of the pumps. Aeyde is one of my go-to brands for minimal shoes with a twist.
Or an understated sandal. Everything about Tove is chic, and I love the quiet elegance of the Rene sandal.
I’m thinking about a few things before making my final decision- comfort is key; I no longer suffer for style and need my shoes to reflect that. My lifestyle- super high heels no longer have a place in my wardrobe as I rarely need them. Instead, a mid-heel is my go-to- ideal for dinners or elevating a day look. I think the rise of popularity for the ballet flat recently is because of the practicality; you can style with everything, they’re smart but comfortable, exactly what I want for my day-to-day life.
