The summer knit is my equivalent of a comfort blanket, and I rarely leave home without one, even on a warm day.
I can struggle with the lack of styling options for a summer look, which can leave my outfit feeling a little flat, so a knit tied around my waist, draped over my shoulders or thrown on over a dress adds texture and interest.
Plus, I hate being cold, so having a knit to hand in air-conditioned restaurants or as the sun goes down during alfresco drinks on cooler summer evenings is just the cosy layer I need.
