With changeable weather, comfortable footwear, and limited luggage space to consider, it can have us overthinking what to pack for a weekend spent dancing in a field
In a sea of fringing, cut-off shorts and cowboy boots, you can still stay true to your style while fitting the festival brief
Festival fashion can confuse even those confident in their everyday style. I went to Glastonbury last year and stayed at Babington House so no tent logistics, plus, the heatwave meant we didn’t have to worry about extra layers or downpours, but the one thing I did learn is you do not need to change your style to make festival fashion work for you.
I stuck to my usual neutral colour palette last year, and went with a black mini dress and boots for day one, a beige maxi dress worn with a leather waistcoat for day two and a silk skirt and cotton shirt outfit for day three. Each piece I can wear in my every-day life and that’s the key- avoid going out and buying a whole new festival wardrobe for one weekend. My go-to for a festival will always be a feminine dress worn with boots (I love the Chelsea boots from Hunter) layered with a field jacket and accessories.
I love the baggy, longer style denim shorts we’re seeing a lot of this summer, I’d team with a blazer and a band tee, both of which I own a lot of. Blazers are such a big part of my every-day wardrobe it makes sense to wear one and make it work for the occasion by teaming with a band tee. Love this Mick Jagger one from Anine Bing.
Mixing fabrics and textures is how I keep my looks interesting, and I love the mix of silk and denim with a little lace thrown in.
