A long weekend in Mallorca

Mallorca is a place I’ve visited many times over the years, spending summers there with my family. I went back last month for a long weekend and it’s just as special as I remember

I loved the familiarity of returning to a place where I’ve spent a lot of time, knowing exactly how to spend the few nights we had, to make the most of the weekend

Where To Stay

Hotel Corazan is high on my list to stay, but sadly it gets booked up pretty quick, so I headed to Mr & Mrs Smith, my go-to for boutique hotels and found Finca Serena. It didn’t disappoint and was exactly what we needed from our few nights away. Super relaxing and peaceful, in a gorgeous setting with good food. They had a bbq on the night we arrived which we enjoyed sitting out under the stars, with stunning views surrounding the grounds while listening to music. A pretty good first night back on the island we love.

  1. Finca Serena, our first time staying and it didn’t disappoint, perfect for a low-key weekend
  2. Hotel Corazan, desperate to stay, next on my list
  3. La Residencia, if no expense spared, this place is the one
  4. Cap Rocat, again another no expense spared hotel, you can go as a guest for dinner
  5. Mardavall, great for luxury with a family
  6. Hospes Maricel, a good location overlooking the sea
  7. Nobis Palma, newly opened in Palma
  8. Meem Townhouse, a restored Mallorcan house in Soller

Where To Eat

We headed to an old favourite of ours for our second night, Forn in Palma. We couldn’t visit Mallorca and not spend time in Palma, strolling around the cobbled street instantly feels like holiday. Forn serves up delicious tapas in the setting of an old bakery and we always have a lovely time.

On our last day we headed to Flaningan in Portals for a big lunch before heading to the airport. Another old favourite which holds a lot of memories spent with family and friends over the years. The apple pie is a must.

  1. Forn, tapas in the heart of Palma
  2. Koa, another good option in Palma
  3. Flanigan, an iconic restaurant in the port
  4. Ca’s Patro March, one of our favourites, a rustic restaurant on the sea. Book ahead
  5. Sa Foradada, only accessible by boat, an unreal spot
  6. Nama Deia, south east asian cuisine sourced from local ingredients

What To Do

Deia is a favourite spot of ours so we decided to head there for the day and have a long lunch at Ca’s PatrĂ³ March. Sadly we didn’t have a booking and they’ve got super strict with access down to the beach that the restaurant is on (the most special setting) so we ended up having lunch at La Residencia, a very good fall-back option.

  1. Hire Mopeds, explore Deia on a moped, we hired ours from Bullimoto
  2. Sunset at Chiringuito, as you drive out of Deia you’ll find the best spot to watch the sunset
  3. Roxy Beach, a low-key bar for post-beach cocktails
