Mallorca is a place I’ve visited many times over the years, spending summers there with my family. I went back last month for a long weekend and it’s just as special as I remember
I loved the familiarity of returning to a place where I’ve spent a lot of time, knowing exactly how to spend the few nights we had, to make the most of the weekend
Hotel Corazan is high on my list to stay, but sadly it gets booked up pretty quick, so I headed to Mr & Mrs Smith, my go-to for boutique hotels and found Finca Serena. It didn’t disappoint and was exactly what we needed from our few nights away. Super relaxing and peaceful, in a gorgeous setting with good food. They had a bbq on the night we arrived which we enjoyed sitting out under the stars, with stunning views surrounding the grounds while listening to music. A pretty good first night back on the island we love.
We headed to an old favourite of ours for our second night, Forn in Palma. We couldn’t visit Mallorca and not spend time in Palma, strolling around the cobbled street instantly feels like holiday. Forn serves up delicious tapas in the setting of an old bakery and we always have a lovely time.
On our last day we headed to Flaningan in Portals for a big lunch before heading to the airport. Another old favourite which holds a lot of memories spent with family and friends over the years. The apple pie is a must.
Deia is a favourite spot of ours so we decided to head there for the day and have a long lunch at Ca’s PatrĂ³ March. Sadly we didn’t have a booking and they’ve got super strict with access down to the beach that the restaurant is on (the most special setting) so we ended up having lunch at La Residencia, a very good fall-back option.
