October – a time for layers, interesting textures and pops of colour to add interest
I’m thinking about new outfit combinations using pieces from my existing wardrobe and filling in the gaps with some newness, like & Daughter knitwear in green and red hues, a suede blazer, and a long rain jacket. An oversized bag is high on my new season wish list, and I’ll be investing in socks to team with loafers and denim.
I’ll be creating layering looks by doubling up my knitwear. I love the idea of wearing a neutral-coloured knit and using a jumper in a similar shade as a scarf or experimenting with bright-coloured knitwear to casually drape or tie over an outfit to give it an instant lift. Sometimes, the smallest detail, like how you belt a trench coat, the colour of your socks peaking through, or the layering of a tee and jumper together, make the biggest difference to an outfit.
