A leather jacket is a forever staple in my wardrobe; It’s what I turn to when I want to add texture and interest to an outfit
If I need to ground an outfit or add a little edge to my look, a leather jacket is the first thing I reach for. In recent years, it was a biker style, but I feel like the shape has since moved on. Now, it can be anything from a trench to a bomber to a boxy or belted style.
I recently invested in Róhe Frames’ double-breasted leather trench coat, and it’s already proving to be a main player in my wardrobe. I’ll be throwing it on over everything from activewear to a slip-dress because as much as leather can elevate an outfit, I also use it to tone down dressier pieces.
It’s no surprise that my favourite brands—Khaite, The Row, Toteme, and By Malene Birger– all feature leather heavily in their collections. Even if you don’t invest in their designs, they’re a great source of inspiration for styling ideas.
On the high street, Mango and Massimo Dutti lead the way, but one of my favourite leather brands is Nour Hammour. The quality and design are worth investing in, along with Róhe Frames, Ducie, and De Savary.
