Dressing for the cold weather can often be a challenge, but there are a few key pieces I turn to year after year to help me stay warm in style
Choose well, and it will last you for years. I usually opt for an oversized wool coat, which you can throw on over any outfit, including a tracksuit and trainers, and still feel put together. I also love a faux fur coat, super chic and cosy and the easiest way to elevate a simple jeans and tee look. This one from De Savary has just arrived, and I’m in love. The colour is muted, so it doesn’t feel as in your face as a lot of leopard coats. Another style I love for 2025 is a long leather coat with a shearling trim. Nour Hammour, Stand Studio and Nili Lotan all have a version of this 70’s inspired style.
When the goal is to stay warm, what’s underneath the outfit is most important. My go-to is Uniqlo’s HEATTECH. I regularly reach for the Leggings, Fleece Crew-Neck, and Cashmere Blend High Neck. I can be wearing jeans and a shirt and have the HEATTECH under to keep super toasty.
During the colder months, I tend to wear boots, trainers, or a loafer (with a sock). However, when the temperature drops really low, only a flat boot with a warm sock will do. I’ve had my Gianvitto Rossi Chelsea Boots for years and wear them every winter. I love the Row Zip Ankle Boots, and every year, I question whether this is the year I need to invest. Le Monde Beryl Shearling lined ankle boots really have my heart this year, though. Cosy and cool. On the High Street H&M has a Warm-Lined Chelsea Boot, or try Stories Lined Leather Boots.
I’m not a big, thick scarf wearer, as I find they make me feel a little claustrophobic, but I do love the idea of wrapping a thinner scarf around my neck and wearing as a hood (I’ve watched many a Reel on how to perfect this), a triangle scarf is great as it adds a style element to your outfit as well keeping you warm, check out this fringed one from COS. And I think a knitted hood looks very cool,
